Lucasfilm has unveiled the opening crawl for Star Wars: The High Republic, which establishes an all-new era of tales in the galaxy far, far away.

The opening crawl was posted on StarWars.com under the site’s High Republic banner to provide fans with an early insight into the state of the galaxy, 200 years before the Star Wars prequels. The text teases a time of peace, hope, and prosperity in a “magnificent renaissance” that soon becomes endangered by a “frightening new adversary” who threatens to disrupt the harmony of the Republic.
