FIFA 21 may have just been released last week, but a property developer company in Malaysia has wasted no time in organising a FIFA 21 tournament to help Malaysian amateur and semi-professional players carve out a career in esports.
Boasting a prize pool of RM10,000 (US$2,410) IOI Properties Group is also teaming up with professional Malaysian FIFA player Luqman “Fenrir” Haziq to bring the inaugural IOI Esports FIFA21 Challenge to life.
“We are pleased to be able to help build a strong foundation for esports skills, one of the increasingly popular interests amongst youths.
“With this competition, we are providing equal opportunity to all by facilitating grassroots participation; a valuable segment which is often overlooked,” said IOI Properties Group Chief Sales & Marketing Officer Jason Tie in a statement recently.

1vs1 Online Friendlies
The tournament has two qualifier rounds: the first will be held on October 18 (Sunday) and the second round on October 23 and 24. Qualifier winners will play in the Semi Finals and proceed to Grand Finals on the October 25. This tournament is open to semi-professionals, amateur players and beginners.
On October 19, players are invited to interact with Luqman during an edutainment session, where Luqman will offer his insights into esports, share gaming techniques, tips and challenges. Hear him talk about life as he juggles between studies and pro gaming. Audience members can interact with Luqman during the event, which will be streamed.

This is an opportunity for pro gamers and semi-pro gamers to pit their skills against Luqman. If you’ve always wanted to gauge your abilities, here’s your chance to play against one of the top FIFA players in Asia. To be held on October 21 and 22, players can request for a match against Luqman during the live session.
