If you work as an LPN, you will be working under the supervision of an RN and perform basic tasks in caring for a patient. When you are working as an LPN, you can continue studying to become an RN going to school part time. Pursuing an RN career is not for everyone; some choose to stay an LPN for the rest of their career life.
RNs have the greatest responsibility in the hospital and they are also the highest paid type of nurse. RNs are in charge of a team of LPNs in many hospitals and other medical institutions. Seeing to the organization of nurses’ activities and making sure that all patients are given proper care are the main responsibilities of an RN. This career is a rewarding one although it can also be stressful. An RN receives a very good pay and benefits for her career.
